Double-chambered vessels may also function as whistles, the tall tapering “spout” being the mouthpiece and the holes above the figure’s knees being the whistling element. This whistle-vessel features a seated warrior holding his rectangular shield and club weapon. His large earflares, face painting and stepped hat indicate high status.
