Gift of M. Mellanay Delhom, The Delhom Service League, and Friends

The coffeepot’s reserves (the surface areas left without the peach ground color) are painted with loose floral bouquets centered around a large, wilting rose. This motif is distinctive to Longton Hall and West Pans wares, and collectors have often assigned it to the alleged “Trembly Rose Painter.” The artist’s identity has never been determined, however, and it is more likely that the prolific bouquets are the work of more than one painter.
