Gift of the Mint Museum Auxiliary, donated by Mrs. James Wilcox.
New corset designs alleviated the pressure of a tightly laced waist and thus created a monobosom effect. The torso appeared lengthened and slenderized from just below the bust to the lower hips. The bodice of this gown drapes low in front and covers the front waist sashes. Three-quarter length sleeves terminate in decorative laces while the skirt displays a long train that flows behind the wearer.
